This calendar lists every FCA date a UK insurance broker, MGA or insurer needs to plan for between October 2026 and the end of 2027: rules taking effect, returns and attestations, expected policy statements and the FCA's own review timetable. Recurring returns, which depend on each firm's accounting reference date, are in a separate table below.
Dates marked "expected" come from FCA publications that give a quarter or half-year rather than a fixed day. We update this page when the FCA confirms a date.

How to use the calendar
Put every date above into one firm-wide calendar with an owner for each line, then work backwards: the evidence for the 31 March attestation should be assembled in January, and board reporting on Consumer Duty outcomes should reach the board before the policy statement in Q1 2027 changes what it must contain. Our broker compliance checklist sets out the checks that sit behind each obligation.
Frequently asked questions
By 31 March each year, covering the previous calendar year. The next attestation, for 2026, is due by 31 March 2027. It is signed by one person holding a senior management function, or by a director if the firm is not an SM&CR firm.
From 18 March 2027, for all firms with a Part 4A permission. Material third party reporting applies from the same date to enhanced SM&CR firms, Solvency II firms and some other categories.
Most RMAR sections are reported at least twice a year, based on the firm's accounting reference date. Each return is due within 30 working days.
The FCA expects to publish a policy statement and make any new rules in Q1 2027.
New and reinstated grounds for dismissing complaints took effect, and the fair and reasonable test in DISP 3.6.4R was amended. Changes to the registration stage are not expected before April 2027.
Under CP26/33 the changes would be optional for 2026 and 2027 data and mandatory from the 2028 reporting year, submitted in 2029. The FCA expects them to take effect from 31 December 2026.
